Google’s Mobile-First Index Rolled

Google’s Mobile-First Index Rolled out on March 26, 2018

Mobile-First Indexing is a known term for the digital marketing experts. Since 2015, a lot has been surfaced on TechCrunch, SEJ, SEL and many tech-based websites. But, no official announcement broadcasted from the office of Google.

But this time, it’s Google that amplified about rolling out Mobile-First Indexing. Google blogs and its Console have separately aired this acknowledgement.

So now, it’s official. You’re likely to witness this makeover.

Do you know what it is? Let’s catch it below:

Mobile-First Index:

There is nothing new to hear that the Googlebots crawl in and index on the web pages. What we have are two versions of a website-desktop version and mobile version. Historically, Google used to penetrate and enlist webpages through its desktop version. This is how it accounts for allocating the rank to the websites.

Now, it revamped its ranking procedure. It shifted Googlebots to crawl in and index the mobile version to better help its primary users (that is mobile traffic).

How will you be notified that this roll out has affected your website?

The update subtly stated that you will see an exponential rise in your web traffic. You can check logs from the Googlebot Smartphone.  The Google Search Console will inform whether or not your website has been switched over to this new kind of indexing.

A notification-mobile=first indexing is enabled, will nudge you about that notification. This change will reflect on the search results. Moreover, you can see the difference via the mobile version of your website’s snippet and Google cache pages.

Mobile-First Index Vs Mobile First Indexing

Mobile-First Index indicates squarely new type of indexing. Indeed, Google is sticking to its old indexing, but with a bit of changes. I’ve already shared what its historic indexing was above. Attend the fact thoughtfully that it has not introduced any new indexing. Rather, it has replaced the route of crawling and indexing.

Before this update, the Googlebot has used to see the web browser while identifying the new web pages and enlisting them to its index. But now, it would crawl and index as a mobile browser.

Advantages:

1. Mobile-indexing would be broader than before.

2. The mobile-friendly and responsive websites would have benefited their ranking a lot.

3. It operates independently.

4. The mobile-friendly website offers privileges to perform better in mobile as well as desktop searches.

5. The websites with slow loading speed, but they have more relevant content to show, will have a positive impact on their rank.
