Google plans customize ads-blocking in Chrome

Is it possible that Google itself would down the shutter on its cash cow ‘ads’? Could you guess how much does it earn through online advertisement publishers?  It was around $60 billion in 2016. Now anticipate- “Can it say ‘no’ to showcase its biggest source of income (online ads)”.

Ad-blocking by Alphabet Inc.’s Google’ bulletin has become a buzzing rumour (for now). If so happens, it would be applicable on ads pop on, both, mobile phones as well as desktop. It has raised brows of all those who deal in online ads to back their business. Even, many of them work in collation with the biggest search engine by leasing out space in their online properties for publishing ads.

However, the decision is still pending to be implemented. The final decision will be unveiled within a few weeks.

Why does Google think of blocking ads?

Undoubtedly, ads are the biggest cause of distraction. Billions of daily users get irked when they encounter prestitial ads with timer, pop-ups and auto-playing videos with sounds. And also, many are found of offending nature.

Rather than waiting for them to be over, the users prompt to browse other websites. Eventually, it is counted in the bad user experience as they interrupt them to go around the web. In order to award good experience, Google may go for ad-blocking.

There is one more reason for considering this blocking, i.e. widespread use of online ad blocking tools. It’s going very common in the US where 26% of the users invest in these tools. Google don’t want to let the third party capitalize on it. And also, it is against bitter user-experience.  So, it is planning to provide the ad filtering option in chrome by default that would be free. Hence, it would acquire proactivity.

Would it block all kinds of ads?

As per one of the family members of the search engine, it may stop airing the unacceptable ads. The question is which ads fall in this class. Would all ads be blocked?

It may likely to introduce an application that would ban popping of all ads on any website. These ads would include unacceptable as well as offending ones also. Indeed, the Coalition for Better Ads that has joined hands with this search engine, has released a list of ad standards in the month of March. If the Chrome would provide filtering option, the ad must fulfill those ad standards. Otherwise, it would not let them emerge in the website.
